Use pdf(la)tex! Build your own? Use the 32-bit version or a .dvi
viewer from your distro ((e.g., kdvi)? In 32-bit (on Fedora 8) things
look more likely to succeed:
$ ldd /usr/local/texlive/2008/bin/i386-linux/xdvi-xaw | grep Xaw
libXaw.so.7 => /usr/lib/libXaw.so.7 (0x00d82000)
