amusingly, the only aaareadme (any case) on ctan is in lsedit, and
appears as various things including .dvi and .txt, but not without
extension ;-)
so presumably (given that tex live doesn't cover vms systems), there are
no aaareadme files to consider, at all.
README, otoh, does sometimes contain stuff worth reading, and does seem
sometimes to appear in tex live.
