Thank you, Siep.

[VM Leak]

I repeated the installation today, using your more
recent code, and removed from the path a reference
to a TeX Live 2007 directory (I noted that a number
of yesterday's messages referenced the 2007
hierarchy rather than the 2008, the reason for
which was unclear at the time). When I repeated
the installation today, the VM error did not recur,
but as the system has not been re-booted in the
meantime, the larger paging file extended by the
system during yesterday's install will still be
available, so it is unclear whether the problem
will recur after a reboot.

A request : could the TeX Live "tlnet/tldev" branch
contain an Install-TL directory that itself contains
an expansion of "tlnet/tldev/install-tl.zip" ? This
would ensure that anyone (such as myself) who is
mirroring the "tlnet" hierarchy will automatically
have access to the most recent contents of "install-tl.zip"
without needing to remember to unpack the ZIP file before use.
