[tex-live] Installing TeX Live 2008 from the net : a review of steps taken and problems encoountered.

OK, the re-install has completed, and
I didn't spot any environment variable
warnings, but the log file is not
complete so I can't yet check.  The
installation has paused with a "Finish"
button displayed, and the CMD session
is suspended at

	pre-generation all format file

(which might better read "pre-generating all format files",
  if anyone is expected to read it).

"fc-cache" has failed again : the relevant
parts of the transcript are below.

More when the "Finish" step is complete.
