OK, I will recheck the situation when the beta TL2008 will be available.

Right.

I agree old is not good. But tquoteright is not the only change in the 
encoding. Naming like ec-dbar-tquoteright-???.enc is too long... I am 
thinking about ec-intuitive.enc but is also has disadvantages. I am not 
sure here.

In every case I would prefer to insert a hyphen after 'ec' since 
otherwise the main encoding info is rather hidden.
