Hi,
there are some significant differences between texmf.cnf and
texmf.cnf-4WIN which are probably not desired, for instance:

< MPMEMS = .;$TEXMF/web2c/{$engine,}//

> MPMEMS = .;$TEXMF/web2c/{$engine,}


< OFMFONTS = .;{$TEXMF/fonts,$VARTEXFONTS}/{ofm,tfm}//
