Oddly, if I tell the pscyr map NOT to enable the maps, then everything
works and all the errors go away. Maybe the ambiguity is the entries
in pscyr.map + the entries in pdftex.map? I don't know enough about
how fonts work to comment.

Martin, do you know where to get the pscyr fonts from? I can send you
a tarball. Is it the seg fault you are interested in repro-ing?
