THis is not a good idea, as the dependencies - as you have seen - are

Quite ok. There are some inconsistencies I am fixing in Debian, and
trying to merge back into TeX live svn repository. But in general there
are only a few problems (till now).

If you want to take a look at the automatic generation of Debian source
and bin package, take a look at the svn repository at debian-tex-maint
at alioth.debian.org.
