they may as well be ahead of germany with respect to fast connections, 
wireless, etc etc

even in bachotek (middle of nowhere) we had fulltime isdn lines (the 
only problem there was that some folks used the lines for downloading 
400 meg movies thereby crippling the rest)

they (the tex target audience) in nigeria etc do have mobile phones, 
probably internet, cars, computers, etc over there

ok, maybe not all school kids, but how many schoolkids are using tex in 
europe? i may hope not too many
