Good question. Adobe does not grant you the right to modify the fonts,
though: 

Permission to use, reproduce, display and distribute the listed typefaces
is hereby granted,
[...]

It might be that Adobe had a differnt intention, but by the above I
don't see how anybody but Adobe would be allowed to make chages to
these fonts. :-(
