Yes, those "warnings" are pointless, for TL builds. I've tried to
eradicate them (--disable-something-or-another), but have not succeeded,
as you've seen ...
And why /opt/tex/...?
Maybe that was where the tex binary is found? I don't recall
/opt/whatever being any kind of hardwired default.
