hey, this is the same as wanting to put TFM files into TeX search
path: doesn't make sense (except for checking the existance of files;
but this is IMHO an invalid reason to do: better to create some
extension to allow to check existance based on e.g. kpse request, as
was discussed; or not care about this at all - in the correct
installation if some TeX file is installed, then all accompanying TFMs
or OCPs will be installed too, so checking for existance is useless).
