[tex-live] cslatex not working / pdfcslatex working ?

Hi guys,
I have a problem. I used to run Fedora Core 4 and TeX Live 2004/2005.  
Everything worked fine.
I switched to Ubuntu, installed TeX Live 2005 and I have problem with  
cslatex. The thing is, that cspdflatex works like a charm but cslatex does  
not!

when I comment out multicol.sty, indentfirts.sty has the same problem,  
then geometry.sty,...
I've found out that pdfcslatex and cslatex are symlinked to the same  
binary...and I'm even more perplexed :)
TeX Live 2003 does not work for me either. The same files, different  
problems.
I use UTF8 package for CZ (as you see) and my system has cs_CZ.UTF8 locale.
