I installed from the scratch on solaris, with win32 and spark-solaris
binaries. Here are things I noticed so far:

-- tl90bzip2.dll is missing (required by windvi)

-- when running latex etc. first time, format file is not generated as
on solaris, mktexfmt worked. However mktexfmt did not work for mf -- did
not find mf-nowin.

-- windvi (after I added tl90bzip2.dll and generated mf.base) created
.pk files in current dir.
