With the help of ttf2tfm and ttf2pk, it is possible to use the system
ttf/otf fonts in almost all DVI drivers, because the font format is
the bitmap PK.

If you want the outline ttf/otf fonts in DVI drivers, the DVI driver
should support this feature. As I know, DVIOUT (running under MS-Win
families) supports ttf directly, and DVIPDFMx supports both ttf and
otf directly.
