[tex-live] #5000

as my last checkin of the day (change number 5000),
I have put a tar.bz2 of the current source.development into the
master tree, in order to test making CD images.

all being well, the Master texmf* trees are now stable and up to date 
with CTAN.

we now need four things to happen:

 a) source freeze by Olaf., Martin and Thanh, followed by new 
compilation all around
 b) new Windows install for live system from Fabrice
 c) Karl/Sebastian to work out how to make .cab files for the compressed 
CD [1], Fabrice
     to provide installer based on those, Karl/Sebastian to finish Linux 
installer
 d) lots of TESTING

I am making a "live" image now, which will be in place in 10-15 minutes,
and would very much welcome comments on the texmf trees, and on the 
placement
of packages in collections.

If it seems like I was busy this weekend, it is true. With my family 
away I have spent 2 days
solidly on TeX Live. The bad news is that I now have to revert to normal 
mode of half an hour
here and there each week. So don't expect much response from me :-}

compressed cabs under Linux is far from easy, if even possible)
