[tex-live] fwd: \delta in overfull \hboxes screws up xterm

eh .. only terminal then, not files! i really need those <32 chars in files; i'm less worried about a screwed up terminal (tex messages are messy anyway) then an unusable system because files behave strange

(dangerous to mention 'for 2003' because that was also dealing with files) 

(i wonder why tex cannot behave like other systems, i never have to worry about such issues when using perl or ruby)
