IMHO the problem with sf and savannah are the licenses for texmf;
and for sarovar the location (it's slower) and the interface.

It's just manpower. Technically it's not a problem -- get a
hosting somewhere. But the manpower is the showstopper.

That was in 2003-07, and they never bothered to answer.

Seems so. If you are happy there, that's fine.

Me neither. I just didn't know the background of the decision.

Moving to CVS will be a lot of work. :-(
