It seems that the html-code contains 8-bit characters (for ligatures at 
least) in some enconding (probably will work fine on Windows or probably 
is some sort of iso-latin-1). Anyway, it displays configure as conĝgure 
for instance on Mac OS X.

Are there ligature-commands in HTML?
