First I would suggest to fix the http://www.tug.org/texlive/index.html
the supported systems paragraph:

	by clicking on the relevant arch/os combination and unpacking the
	file into the directory that holds the binaries. Please note that only
	those binaries are included which are not correct, so do NOT delete
	your TeXlive/bin directory!

<li> 2002/06/06: The (o)xdvi.bin can NOT be used on older i386/linux

	downloaded from <a href=....>here</a>
