There is a mailing list for TeX on Mac OS X:

Furthermore, there are various frontends, amongst others TeXShop:

http://www.uoregon.edu/~koch/texshop/texshop.html

And finally, there is an easy installer for TeX (and ghostscript, e.g.
for legacy projects using eps images) which can be found on

ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/comp/macosx/tex-gs/TeX.dmg

This one combines TeX Live (recent code) and a teTeX texmf tree. There
is also a teTeX binaries + teTeX texmf tree available on the same site.
Currently, most TeX frontends on Mac OS X make use of (or link to) this
binary distribution.
