Ghostscript 6.01 is not available under the Debian license that we
want to stick to. If we had GS6, no-one would be able to put the CD in
the back of a book, or sell it. Believe we, this has been argued about
a lot!
Emacs has an excellent GUI and is stable. I am also constrained by the
noisy Richard Stallman :-}
