But isn't the fact that it is a leak of privacy for some persons a
really good reason for the default to be not to put it in the file?

You shouldn't have to do anything to prevent a leak of privacy, but
having to do something to add useful information is reasonable.

In the title field? Mmm... Let me guess... The title? No, that's not
quite adequate, you're right. The filename is far better.

Could dvips put, by default, the title in a filename field, so?
