The point is, I don't want the new luatex-specific part of the system to
interfere with the old part. For users who don't use luatex, nothing should
change IMO.

I'll review the documentation to make this clearer. I agree that the current
presentation is misleading.

Thanks for your comments, even if I don't always agree, it helps me to have a
clearer view of the system and how I should explain it.
