This would more than double the size of the tarball.  I have
these stats:

-rw-r--r--  1 oleg oleg 397782 2005-09-20 21:42 eplain-3.0.tar.gz
-rw-r--r--  1 oleg oleg 103421 2005-09-22 17:30 eplain.dvi.gz
-rw-r--r--  1 oleg oleg 426517 2005-09-22 17:30 eplain.pdf.gz

so we would wind up somewhere around 1Mb.  Would this be
acceptable, taking into account that the docs can be
(easily?) compiled by the end-user?
