I use xdvik too, version 22.40v (try xdvi --help).

The current version seems to be 22.84.1, according to
http://xdvi.sourceforge.net

Please consider trying the newest version. If your version is > 22.40v,
you should submit a bug report: there is a link to bug report form on
the webpage.
