[pstricks] \normalsize not defined

   I'm modifying an older PSTricks .tex file since the new figures I need are
of similar type. The begining of the source file is:

\begin{document}
\documentclass[letterpaper]{article}
\begin{preamble}
\date{}
\usepackage{pst-dbicons,lscape}
\end{preamble}

   When I run the file through latex I get this error:

! LaTeX Error: The font size command \normalsize is not defined:
                there is probably something wrong with the class file.

   Per the LaTeX suggestion I look in TLC2 for an explantion but do not find
it. The first three page references for \normalsize are 29, 30, and 144 on
which they are used but I don't see an explanation for my error. I'm running
TeXLive 2011 and upgraded PSTricks a few months ago.
