for my specific needs, I would like a function f(x) parameterized in a 
and b as follows:

f(x)=\int_0^x \sqrt{a^2\cos^2\theta+b^2\sin^2\theta}d\theta

but maybe it becomes difficult here, and the use of a dedicated soft 
would be more appropriate.
I would then enjoy an easier way to read data for personal use within 
pstricks.
