Actually, the question was an academic one, since I could get the job done 
using \SpecialCoor. In fact, I wanted to plot multiple points on a 
curve more complicated than y=2*x. I could do it either by  wrapping
up the PostScript computation in a TeX macro or by defining a PostScript 
procedure via \pstVerb. I was just curious to see whether the computation 
could be done in TeX and passed on to PostScript.
