Dear Herbert,

Thanks for this answer.

I have completely cancelled texlive2007 and upgraded to texlive2009 and now I can compile pst-am, ...

I have nevertheless a trouble with the combination of ppchtex and pstricks: the following example gives me an error (it is still working on texlive2007 on another pc)

\usepackage{pstricks}
\usepackage[pstricks]{m-ch-en}

\listfiles
\begin{document}
\chemical{O_2}
\startchemical
\chemical[SIX,B1..6,R1..6,RZ1..3][CH_3,CH_3,OH]
\stopchemical
\end{document}

I have no idea how to cope with that error.
