Interesting. To get pstricks graphics into a PDF file I do the
following:
latex test.tex
dvips -Ppdf -o test-pics.ps test.dvi
ps2pdf test-pics.ps test-pics.pdf
pdflatex test.tex
pdflatex test.tex
and now, looking more carefully, I agree that the drawing is correct
in the dvi file (as shown by xdvi), but the test-pics.ps file is wrong
(as shown by ghostscript). Hence there's either a problem with dvips,
or there is a bounding box in the dvi file which dvips uses (but xdvi
doesn't use) which is wrong.
But I don't know how to find a bounding box for a ps \special inside a
dvi file. I tried hunting for a "%%BoundingBox" string but didn't find
it.
