[pstricks] Setting a node at a page corner

The only method I've found to set a node at a fixed position on the
paper (1in from top, 1in from left) uses the fancybox package:

\thisfancyput{\pnode{Q}}

However, as the fancybox documentation warns, this works by defining a
new output routine, and may not be compatible with some packages. Is
there a simpler, more compatible way to do this? Placing immediately
after \begin{document}

\vtop to 0pt{\pnode{Q}}

is close---correct horizontally, but a few points off vertically.
