I've been doing a little of this:

\noindent\textbf{Products and Factors.} In the expression $3\cdot 4$,
the whole numbers 3 and 4 are called the \textbf{factors} and $3\cdot
4$ is called the \textbf{product}.

Working pretty well.

I was wondering if someone could inform
me if it's possible to do shading with LaTeX.
Is there a command(s) that will shade a region?
Is it even possible?

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
