if you open the PS file with a texteditor, somewhere at the beginning
you should find something like
%%BeginProcSet: pstricks.pro 0 0
% PostScript prologue for pstricks.tex.
% Version 1.00, 2005/09/18
% For distribution, see pstricks.tex.
what indicates you, which version of pstricks.pro is used.
Additionally, under *nix, you can use for example
KPATHSEA_DEBUG=-1 dvips file.dvi 2>&1 | grep pstricks.pro | grep fopen
to look from which path pstricks.pro is included.
