[pstricks] Moving the baseline

Hello,

in the original pstricks  manual (1993, TVZ) is a facility is mentioned how to
move the baseline:

Instead of e.g just 

\pspicture(0,0)(10,10) 

one has to write

\pspicture[.5](0,0)(10,10)

which moves the baseline roughly to the middle of the height.

This works well with an old installation (which was never updated), but it does 
not work on a recent installation (made from TeXLive CD).

Error message: Pstricks error. 
Graphics parameter .5 not defined.

Any idea what is wrong? Or was this function deleted?
