\shortstack is the command to use.

\tbput{\shortstack{Sampling cycle\\complete}} or
\tbput{\shortstack[l]{Sampling cycle\strut\\complete}} or
\tbput{\shortstack[r]{Sampling cycle\strut[-2pt]\\complete}} or similar.

A standard LaTeX command.
