[pstricks] relative coordinates of a node in tex without psktricks package

hi,

i want to calculate x and y coordinate of a node. I
have found a peice of code from this mailing to
calcualte the coordinates. But with psttricks, i have
portability problem. Is there any way to calculate
coordinates only with tex/Latex commands.
