To add further to that, multido defines a command \fpAdd (note the
lowercase "fp"). If fp.sty is not loaded and \FPadd is therefore
undefined, multido also redefines \FPadd to be the same as \fpAdd.
However, \FPadd (from fp.sty) and \fpAdd (from multido.sty) do not have
the same syntax. Follow van Zandt's example if you are using multido
without fp, but use, e.g., \FPadd\sol{1}{1} if you are using fp.
