[pstricks] Newbie question about overlays

Hi,

I've got a postscript diagram that I need to patch with some labels (simple 
characters "A", "B" and "C". I'm considering pstricks' overlay feature for 
that. Is anyone on this list who can give me a simple example how o do that? 

I don't need any sophisticated stuff such as axes or grids as shown in the 
examples on the web page.

And this problem appears too simple to me to justify a purchase of a book 
about pstricks.
