Put it in a \scalebox or \scaleboxto (with maybe one of the dimensions
equal to zero and the other equal to \textwidth or \textheight).

What do you mean? Put the tree on one big (logical) page and print it
on several? Should be possible at the postscript level, or by playing
with \includegraphics' bounding boxes.
