    I think someone on this list was collecting odd error messages.

I added your latest to the minimal list I have been keeping at
http://tug.org/errors.html as you and others send them in.  The page is
unlinked for now, it needs some introductory text to make it
publicizable.

    I think an article on odd errors might be cool.....

Sure.  I can't undertake to do it.  I hope someone else will.
