[pdftex] Interrobang

Yeah, I eventually discovered that--the problem seems to be in 
pdfjadetx, not pdftex.  I've no idea if there's any relationship between 
those two apps.  (So this whole discussion is in the wrong place--sorry, 
'bout that, folks.)
