[pdftex] pdfTeX bug

why? PDF allows balanced parentheses in a string. If they are not balanced, they should be escaped.

(see PDF Reference 1.7 "Literal Strings" page 53/54)

perhaps the validator is incorrect? Just a question, I don't actually know much about it.
