[pdftex] wrong tracking with microtype & russian babel

Dear all,

I'm trying to use the "more realistic example" from section 5.3 of the
microtype manual.  It works taken as is, but when I specify the russian
language for babel, it gives equal positive tracking for all sizes and
shapes.  What's wrong?

I use pdfTeX 3.1415926-1.40.11-2.2 (TeX Live 2010) and microtype.sty
2011/08/18 v2.5 <beta-07>
