[pdftex] TeX as a composition server?

Correction.  The 11,000 pages per minute (est.) was with pdfTeX.  With plain
vanilla TeX (MikTeX 2.8), it took only about 30 sec. for all 15000 pages, so
better than 30000 pages/minute to produce a dvi.
