Just the general advice.

In the first run, use:

pdftext -draftmode -interaction batchmode

in the second or third:

pdftex -interaction batchmode

-drafmode
suppresses creation of PDF

-interaction batchmode
suppresses printing of messages on screen

It will not save the time of microtype calculations, which are naturally 
time consuming.
