[pdftex] \pdfcompression or similar

Hi *

it's a long time i latex for writing articles but in the last mounths
i've used it for presentations using the beamer class, now i'd like to
publish on-line the presentations for the students but i'd like to make
small files so i've tried something like:

\pdfcompresslevel=1
\pdfimageresolution=25
\pdfpkresolution=50

but nothing changes in the final size :(
