[pdftex] pdtex 1.40.6

pdftex 1.40.5 works for me, but 1.40.6 doesn't.  It seems to be 
something to do wih parsing pdftex.map.  (My map file is quite 
old, but I'm reluctant to mess with it other than essential edits 
since it contains quite a lot of customized material.)
