[pdftex] ToUnicode map and virtual fonts

It's rather easy to attach a ToUnicode cmap to a font using \pdfobj.
Alas, it seems that pdftex is not able to properly resolve the
assignments to the base font(s) in case of virtual fonts.

I'm not sure whether this qualifies as a bug; anyway, it's very
inconvenient: Due to the many different CJK encodings still floating
around it makes sense to provide CJK fonts in various encodings using
the virtual font mechanism.

Note that dvipdfmx, which normally doesn't need explicit ToUnicode
cmaps because it is able to build them by itself, doesn't have this
problem.

Any chance that this is going to be fixed?
