[pdftex] pdftex, dvipdfmx, encguide

I thought I'd pass on this recent note from Werner about pdftex
generating a much larger file than dvipdfmx.  He speculated to me that
it might be something about subfonts, and also thought you might already
know about it.  But anyway, FWIW ...

Any reason why you use pdfTeX for this?  Doing the same with dvipdfmx,
I get an `encguide.pdf' file with a size of 771KB, compared to your
version which has whopping 1498KB.
